Space is an unique working
facility, allowing experiment conditions (microgravity,
cosmic radiations), which cannot be obtained for
a prolonged time on Earth.
A common interest for space
science (radiobiology, gravitationnal biology,
physiology and medicine) leaded several groups
working in the area of life sciences at the Paul
Sabatier University in Toulouse, to share skills
and knowledge in the aim of promoting and
achieving experiments in space.GSBMS, which is provided with a
technical team, is an horizontal structure,
functioning on a collegial mode. Its competence area
expresses at research, teaching and technology levels.
Through the impetus given
by GSBMS, a Diploma of space biology, physiology and
medicine has been created at the Paul Sabatier
University.
GSBMS proposes on this
website, an information about many subjects
linked to life sciences in space like news or articles edited in the "UPSpace" bulletin (in french).
Links to websites of
GSBMS partners are also presented.
